NJoy Pothos Care Guide

NJoy Pothos is a variety of pothos with smaller leaves and extensive white variegation. It is a cultivar of the Marble Queen Pothos, bred for even more variegation and smaller leaves.

Though not extremely rare, NJoy Pothos is less common than other varieties but readily available at many nurseries.

Lighting Needs

NJoy Pothos thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light but will lose variegation in low light conditions.

Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves and cause sunburn.

Watering Needs

Water your NJoy Pothos when the top 2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot.

Overwatering is a common issue, so it’s better to underwater than overwater.

Potting and Soil Requirements

NJoy Pothos prefers well-draining soil. A standard potting mix works well.

Re-pot your plant when it becomes root-bound, typically every 1-2 years, into a pot that is 1-2 inches larger in diameter.

Mature Height

NJoy Pothos can grow up to 10 feet long as a trailing vine indoors. Its slow growth makes it more mounding than vining, but it can be trained to climb with support.

How to Propagate NJoy Pothos

Propagate NJoy Pothos using stem cuttings:

  1. Identify a healthy branch with new growth.
  2. Snip the branch with sharp scissors.
  3. Remove any lower leaves.
  4. Place the cutting in water, ensuring at least one node is underwater.
  5. Change the water weekly and top off as necessary.
  6. Once roots are 2-3 inches long, plant the cutting in soil.

Temperature & Humidity

NJoy Pothos thrives in temperatures between 60°F (15°C) and 85°F (29°C). It prefers moderate to high humidity but can tolerate average indoor humidity.

Misting, pebble trays, or a humidifier can help increase humidity levels, especially in drier climates.

Fertilizing

Feed your NJoy Pothos with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).

Avoid fertilizing in winter when the plant is dormant.

Pruning

Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Use clean, sharp scissors to trim leggy or overgrown stems.

Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to keep the plant healthy.

Toxicity

NJoy Pothos is toxic to pets and humans if ingested, causing irritation, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing.

Keep this plant out of reach of children and pets.
